This is a classic statement I get quite often from customers coming to me for iron beds. They desperately want a beautiful antique iron bed. But they want the headboard of that bed to be low enough to fit under the window that is on the only wall that can accommodate their bed.
What most people don’t realize, is that a metal bed doesn’t take up the visual space that a wooden or upholstered headboard does. An metal bed allows light and vision to go through it. A window can actually act as a “frame” around the bed.
It’s always better to allow your bed to stay tall and regal. It’s more impressive and also will better support whatever pillows you have.
So consider a bed if you have a low window you don’t want to block with a conventional wooden or upholstered bed frame.
