The Two Tone Crackle finish is one that gives you an original finish for your iron bed that was being done by the manufacturer nearly 200 years ago. Of course the finish looked newer when it was applied to an iron bed originally. But try and consider what it would look like if it where to have changed hands a dozen or more times and maybe been left outside in a barn.
The manufacturers use to offer whatever color the client wanted, on the perimeter tubing of the iron bed and then white for contrast on the interior rods. The beauty of this finish is that you can have it blend with anything in the bedroom or linens that are on the iron bed. There really are no limitations.
This particular “finish” is one of our more labor intensive antique faux’ finishes. It looks great on any iron bed. There are actually eight separate sets and applications required for this particular finish. It can take a Depression era Austere style iron bed and bring it to life. Or it can take a “one of a kind” scrolled Victorian iron bed and make it look like a real collectors piece. Something to consider
