Having been in the business of selling iron beds for over thirty years, and having been located here in the entertainment capital of the world…..Los Angeles, it’s only natural that at some point in time I’d come into contact with a familiar face, I’d seen in either the movies or on TV. Well over that thirty year period, there are very few high profile entertainers, actors and sports figures that I haven’t come in contact with. Having developed a reputation of trust for their privacy is one of the reasons I’ve had more and more come back to me and tell their friends. I’ve had entire casts from a TV show buy beds from me. The first one I’ve ever had in a feature movie was a little know film called “Soup For One” with Saul Rubinek and Marcia Strassman, back in 1982. Since then I’ve lost track of how many films I’ve had them in. The cowboy movie “Silverado” had the most, with six . One of the more beautiful beds I’ve had in a movie was “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pit.
Although I won’t mention names………I had one very famous TV actor, with a long running half hour comedy series buy a bed from me for his daughter. He then came back with his wife and bought a bed for themselves that we converted to king size. He then separated from his wife and rented a home close by so he could see his children on a daily basis. So he bought a king size for that rental. He started dating an equally famous actress, who became my favorite celebrity client and she purchased five for her home. He stopped dating her after a couple years and took up with another actress and they then bought three beds for a place back east. He then bought a beautiful home from a very good client of mine who had three of my beds in her home. So we ended up selling him another three beds for that house. I’ve actually lost track of how many beds he is credited for me selling. The entertainment community can be very fickled ……. but my experience is that they can be very loyal when you’re able to give them a unique product they aren’t going to see anywhere else.
