Ok…….Well I think we all know where that questions leading. The answer is a resounding NO. The reason people tend to ask this question is because they’ve heard horror stories about brass beds making all kind of noise when the occupants are being intimate. Unfortunately iron beds get lumped into the same category with brass beds…….and they shouldn’t. All the brass tubing in brass bed designs, are put together with threaded stock (screws) and little brass balls that are also threaded and tighten like a nut on the bolt. So there’s always going to be a point of friction on a brass bed, whereas that isn’t the case on an iron bed. On a iron bed, all the joints where one piece of tubing or interior rod are joined to another, have what are known as “chills” or “castings” as we refer to them today. These castings were created with sandcast molds around all the connecting joints that are then filled with hot molten iron ore. Once a casting is poured around one of these joints, there can be no friction or ability to make any noise. The only noise you’ll ever hear with an iron bed is from the mattress and box spring……….never the iron bed frame itself.
So enjoy your iron bed……….noise free.
