For some strange reason we have had the good fortune to have sold more iron beds in the month of October than any other month in the year…..even December. There’s a good possibility that people that are buying these beds for Christmas presents start the process early to allow themselves plenty of time to have whatever antique iron beds they select, refinished and delivered in time for the holidays.
The only other possible reason for our bed sales being higher this month is the “Once A Year Special” we run in October. Many of our potential customers actually wait until October to purchase an bed from us because we include the cost of all refinishing and conversions. It’s a considerable savings that can be as much as $1,000. if you were getting a king size conversion, canopy conversion and one of our premium antique faux’ finishes.
The bed in the photo is actually one I’d done many years ago for me and my wife. We’d wanted a king and canopy conversion. This particular one was originally a 3/4 size antique iron bed, that I took quite a few liberties with in doing the conversion. We traditionally start out with a double size bed, when we’re going to do a conversion to king size. But 3/4 size iron beds really don’t have much functional use. So converting it to a king size bed makes it considerably more practical.
If anyone that’s reading this would like to see a photo of this bed in it’s original 3/4 state……. email me and I’ll forward you a photo of it. There’s quite a difference.
Happy Halloween…………….
