The biggest problem over the years has been replenishing my inventory at the rate that they’ve been selling.
One of the reasons there are an abundance of reproduction companies making “pretend” iron beds……..and I stress “pretend”, is that there really aren’t enough around anymore to satisfy the demand. That’s always the reason you’ll encounter “reproductions” of anything on the market. Simply because there aren’t enough originals around.
So over the years my inventory has depleted to around 400. With no hope of building it to what it once was. But as the supplies have and availability have dwindled to next to nothing……. the prices have continued to grow, and will always continue. It’s like beach front property…… there’s only so much of it. More of it can’t be produced. Same case with any antique. The definition of an antique is : a collectible object such as a piece of furniture or work of art that has a high value because of its considerable age and rarity.
